The Houston Community Conversation Cafe is a place where people can gather together in an informal way to discuss meaningful issues. It's based on the work of organizational theorist Juanita Brown (www.theworldcafe.com) . People gather together once a month on the second Sunday of the month at 1318 W. 26th Street, the location of the Live Oak Friends Meeting House at 6:00 pm. Over snacks and coffee they talk about topics such as community, joy, meaningful work. Each session begins with introductions and a briefreaction to the topic of the evening. Then people wander from tableto table talking with other participants about the topic. Often the conversations branch off into other directions which gives opportunities for discussions outside of the confines of the regular sessions.
The Houston Community Conversation Cafe recently received a write up in the Houston Chronicle
