Storytelling conjures up images of little gray haired ladies telling stories to their grandchildren in front of a fire. It's nice, but not the whole picture. Local storytellers are taking this ancient art form to the edge. On Apr. 9, 10, 16, 23, 24, 30th at 8:00 pm at Helios, they'll tell stories that will raise the hackles on your neck and give you a sleeping disorder. Brian Herod, the event's producer, says “This event takes the art to new territory. We'll present some challenging work.” The event is the brain-child of storyteller Linda Befeld who wanted a place to showcase material that was edgy and less than acceptable in proper storytelling circles.
Featured tellers include: Linda Befeld, Alice Evergreen, Brian Herod, Beth Hollingsworth, Sita Lewi, Jay Stailey, Scott Wilson
The event will be held on Apr. 9, 10, 16, 23, 24, 30th at 8:00 pm at Helios, 411 Westheimer (at Taft). Nestled in a quaint cottage, Helios hosts some of Houston's most progressive art events.
Bring your imagination. Bring an open mind. Don't bring your children.
